Mirage Translation: End of Vol. 10, start of Vol. 11
I have been remiss in keeping up with Mirage fandom and didn't notice for about two years that tasha_poisonous translated a lot more stuff than I'd added to this community. She finished volume 10 and did two chapters of volume 11.

It's all here (and has been added to the profile page for this community):
http://tasha-poisonous.livejournal.com/ (See navigation at the left of the page for all entries.)

Enjoy! And thanks, Tasha_Poisonous!

Mirage Vols 7 and 8: Translations by Asphodel
I am lame and have been neglecting this community, but I finally updated the profile to include the last couple years of diligent work asphodel has been doing in Mirage translation:

Volume 7: http://www.asphodelshaven.com/translation/novel/mirage-blaze-volume-7-supreme-conquerors-demon-mirror-2

Volume 8 (start): http://www.asphodelshaven.com/translation/novel/mirage-blaze-volume-7-supreme-conquerors-demon-mirror-2

She continues to be a meticulous and very talented translator. Do check out her work and consider supporting her excellent website.

Translations of the Shōwa era stage plays
Hello! I bring good news: me and my friend Michiru over at Tumblr have been translating the stage plays that came out in recent years, based on the prequels set in the Shōwa era. While these are not full translations, and especially mine might be flawed since I am just learning the beginnings of the language, you should be able to get a pretty good picture of what is generally going on in the story. We have also added screencaps so you can enjoy looking at the great actors, too.

Here are the links:

1st stage play, based on 1st novel: Yonakidori Blues
http://michiru2042.tumblr.com/post/128310313517/mirage-of-blaze-yonakidori-blues-summary-part-5 (part 5 has links to the previous posts)

2nd stage play, based on 3rd
novel: Ruritsubame Blues

2nd stage play extra scene, based on the 6th book but chronologically set before the two stories mentioned above: Love Me Tender

I am studying Japanese right now mostly for Mirage, so I hope I will be able to translate more and better in the future as well. It might take a lot of time, but I'll do my best!

But for now, please enjoy!

Are there any Audio books?
I was wondering if anyone knows if there are any audio books of hanoo no mirage [mirage of blaze] ? or if any fans have recorded reading the books out-loud?

there is a new translation device coming to market soon, that will take audio and translate language as you hear it, making communication between you and someone else of a foreign language can make talking to and communicate with each other, listening and translating at the same time as the two people speak to each other. http://www.waverlylabs.com/

i don't know how much the device will be and if it becomes affordable I know I will be purchasing it and whatever audio novels of my favorite japanese novels I can find and listen to them with the translation device. if the device works and is affordable I know I will transcribe whatever I am hearing into a file and make it available to read.

I am on the look out for audio novels of hanoo no mirage [mirage of blaze] and Kyou Kara Maou and the 12 kingdoms.

I don't know if that is the same thing as audio drama/ drama cds?
thank you for any assistance,

defunct links
as i was going through the links to read the Translations available I noticed a few of the links are defunct. websites or journal were deleted/ purged or taken over by other sites.

this site is gone:
Aestheticism’s brief summary of the novels volume 1 to 28: http://www.aestheticism.com/visitors/manga/Mirage/index3.htm

I hope someone has backups of these summaries somewhere.

Would it be possible for the Translations to be posted to Archive of Our Own?
Live journals and individual websites seem to come and go but on Archive of Our Own readers can download their favorite stories.
would these translations count as a kind of fanfiction?
Archive of Our Own is an interesting Archive and fan friendly.
I hope some of the translators will be open to sharing their translations on AO3

it is most assuredly more easy then searching livejournal entries. ;D

New translations of book 7 and a forum for Mirage of Blaze

Good news: Asphodel's Haven has continued translating Mirage of Blaze. At the moment two first chapters of book 7 are up on the website.

As you visit you will also notice the website now has a forum for Mirage. It's very new, so there's not much there yet, but we are hoping to have all kinds of discussions related to the series there. It would be lovely to have more people join us, so please come over and talk with us so we can have a more active fandom again!

Mirage of Blaze official english translation
So Mirage of Blaze is published by Shueisha Inc.

Shueisha Inc. owns VIZ Media that licenses Japanese manga and anime officially translated into English.

I wrote to VIZ Media asking if they will ever publish Mirage of Blaze in English.

I would suggest to all who are interested in Mirage of Blaze (like me) to write to VIZ Media to show that if they will publish it they will sell it as well.

Here the message from a community member to me:

We can try, though as far as I know, Sublime (yaoi division of VIZ) considers publishing novels unprofitable.
They do accept suggestions though.
Here is their web site: http://www.sublimemanga.com/contact
I sent my suggestion for MOB long time ago, may be more people would join in ?

So here the mail i sent to both Viz Media and SuBLime Manga:

Subject: Mirage of Blaze light novel

Dear all,

I watched the Mirage of Blaze anime and I really liked the story, but it hasn't been completed.
Searching online turns out that Mirage of Blaze is only available as light novel format in Japanese, it is composed of 40 books plus some extras, and is written by Mizuna Kuwabara and published by Shueisha Inc.
It seems that Mirage of Blaze novel has never been licensed to be translated into English.
Googling Mirage of Blaze turns out that there are many fan sites with some fragmented translations, and the interest about Mirage of Blaze is still current.
I think that an official release of Mirage of Blaze translated into English will sell very well, either as ***print*** or ***digital*** format.
So i would like to ask you, will there ever be an official translation of the whole Mirage of Blaze 40 books plus extras into English ?

Please fans, send this message to Viz Media and SuBLime Manga or write your own: the more requests will show them that there is a demand for Mirage of Blaze.

Professional translation of Mirage of Blaze volumes into English
Hi everyone, i am a new fan of Mirage of Blaze, but not being able to read Japanese, i must rely on English translations.

I see that (unfortunately) there is no official English release of Mirage of Blaze issued by its publisher Shueisha Inc.

I tried to contact both Shueisha Inc. and Mizuna Kuwabara to ask if they have any plan to translate the whole Mirage of Blaze into English, but their websites are only in Japanese.
Shueisha Inc. has one page in English where they specifically remark that all communications to them MUST be in Japanese.

I thought that we (fans) can raise money on Kickstarter to pay or Shueisha Inc. or any Japanese/English translator interested to translate the whole 40 volumes of Mirage of Blaze.

Before i start the Kickstarter fund raising, i would like to ask:

Is there any Japanese speaker in this community who can contact Shueisha Inc. and Mizuna Kuwabara to ask if they have any plan to translate the whole Mirage of Blaze into English ?
Here their websites:
Shueisha: http://www.shueisha.co.jp/
Cobalt: http://cobalt.shueisha.co.jp/
Mizuna Kuwabara: http://mizuna.info/

Is there any Japanese/English translator interested to translate the whole 40 volumes of Mirage of Blaze and getting paid for the job ?
